What the Bible says about beauty?

The Bible has much to say about what makes things beautiful sight of God. Covers all areas of beauty as defined in the Webster's dictionary as follows: "1. the quality or the aggregate of qualities into something that gives pleasure to the senses or nice exalts the mind or spirit. physical beauty, moral or spiritual. 2. a person or thing, a beautiful woman with esp. .. 3. (A) the special grace, ornament or excellence; anything beautiful. as the beauties of nature. " We would do well for ourselves and other people see things that are beautiful eyes of God.

It is interesting to note that the word "beauty" is not found in the New Testament and "beautiful" is found only 4 times. "Beautiful" is found 19 times and "beauty" is found 49 times in the old testament. Once found "Beauties" and "flatter" is found three times in the old testament.

The Bible makes reference to several women as being beautiful. He warns men not to allow the beauty of a woman to take them in adultery. The real beauty of a woman is not external, but rather is an inner beauty that shines out of your beautiful spirit of love and kindness. Such a woman would never do anything to seduce a man for adultery or fornication with her. She is encouraged to live a life of devotion to God and his ways. A woman will dress up in order to be referred to as being "sexy". She won't accentuate parts of your body to draw attention to herself. CF. 1 Peter 3 for instructions on how this should be done in a familiar environment.

The Bible tells us about the "beauty of Holiness". See 1 Chronicles 16: 8-36. This is how we are "worship the Lord in the beauty of Holiness". See 2 Chronicles 20: 1-29 to see how the Israelis won over their enemies when they praised "the beauty of Holiness". Psalm 29: 2 tells us "give to the Lord the glory due his name. worship the Lord in the beauty of Holiness ". Psalm 96, gives the reason we "worship the Lord in the beauty of Holiness:" and "fear before him, the whole earth". The most beautiful thing that can happen to a person is "worship God in spirit and in truth". II Corinthians 7: 1 tells us what to do to improve the "Holiness".

In Ecclesiastes 3: 11 tell us that God "made everything beautiful in its time." Calendar has a lot to do with a beautiful life of Holy life. Most of you probably have never heard it before. In this chapter, there are 14 activities that are contrastive "beautiful in his time". If the weather is wrong, the action is very destructive for all involved. The beauty is changed into ashes.

Only God can make a pretty nasty thing. They can take a person who is lost and undone, and make that person a vessel of honor. How it does it is beyond our natural capacity. Just because a person is ugly-spirited now, doesn't mean that there is no hope of ever being changed into something beautiful. The Bible and history attest to this. The testimonies of Redemptive love and grace of God are all around us.

In the song of Solomon 7: 1a, we read, "how beautiful are your feet with shoes, o Prince's daughter!" On the other hand, Isaiah 7: 52 and Romans 10: 15b tell us "how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the Gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" God is more interested in our feet "with the preparation of the Gospel of peace" instead of "our beautiful shoes. A man looks for the appearance and looks at the heart of God. See Ephesians 6: 10-19 to see how the whole armour of Lord makes for a beautiful view in the eyes of God.

In summary, the things of God's creation, whether physical or spiritual are beautiful. Things that despise God are ugly. God is in the business of turning ugly things in beautiful ones. See Isaiah 61 to see what are the intentions of God for our lives.
